Cinderella's Fiber

We were recently contacted by a fiber artist in Florida who saw Cinderella's fiber stats and histogram on our AlpacaNation page and wanted to buy her blanket to spin into yarn. She also asked to be put on a waiting list for Cinderella's blanket for next year. Of course, we sent her Cindy's blanket right away! Cinderella has a beautiful and soft fiber that has a blue hue to it. We were very excited as this is the first raw fiber we have actually sold and we weren't really even advertising it! Here are some pictures of Cinderella and her fiber.

Around the same time she contacted us, some local spinners had shown interest in buying raw fiber to spin as well, and are coming out to pick out the colors they want. I am very excited that we are actually selling raw fiber. We are selling all of our blankets between one and three dollars per once depending on the color and quality and the seconds at half that price. We have been doing a lot of research trying to figure out cost effective ways of turning our raw fiber into finished products. I have done some hand spinning and felting, but have to admit that I need more practice and have a difficult time making time to practice. We have also been looking into options such as socks and larger sheets of felt to make clothing out of. In the meantime, we will continue to sell raw fiber and I will hone my skills as a fiber artist!
